- A (Adapt) - Consider how you can adapt your services or products to meet new uses and different needs.
- M (Modify - Magnify) - Changing something existing can lead to strengthening or improving it.
- P (Put to another use) - Try using your product or service in a new context, different from how you originally planned.
- E (Eliminate) - Think about what you could remove to simplify or improve the product or service.
- R (Reverse - Rearrange) - Try changing the order or way things are organised to achieve new results.
Implementation Steps of the Method
- First, choose a specific product or service that needs improvement or change. This can be an existing product or a new one that will serve as the basis for a completely new concept.
- Participants then ask questions based on the seven themes of the SCAMPER method. Different questions can be useful for each theme. At this stage, you can use a whiteboard, a board with colourful notes, or an online board to record ideas.
- Next, filter the responses through a comprehensive evaluation, categorising them as useful, not useful, or slightly useful.
- Finally, select the most interesting and feasible ideas for further exploration and development.
